Villa Schreiner Guest House - Johannesburg

I really had an awesome time at this place with a few of my girlfriends this past weekend. This is the perfect place to relax and just have a good time. Its very private no one bothers you. And to our host Calvin..... Big ups man. Are you just to sweet and awesome. Will definitely do Villa Schreiner again.

I found this guest house Ideally situated in a quiet Johannesburg suburb. Within easy reach of several restaurants and takeaways. It offers a peaceful and homely atmosphere together with a helpful, attentive and charming host. Beautiful gardens and barbeque area and well stocked honesty bar. Breakfast was more than adequate and served alfresco. I can certainly recommend this guest house for either families, couples or single business traveler like myself. I shall certainly be returning on my next trip.

It is absolutely beautiful here and so peaceful - 1st class!

The view of the pool & garden. Could make use of the kitchen and lapa. Own gate remote. Very peaceful.

Could hardly watch TV programmes because someone else was always watching it in the lounge. Bedding was clearly not clean from the Friday till the Monday. It was only changed at my insistance.on the Monday. Smoking by someone nearby made my wife's chest close up. Reading lamps too weak and too low. (Hotels in SA generally have too weak lights to read or write.

Was a really nice location and the owner is brilliant, nice and relaxed invironment!!!

The bathroom was mavelous. The jarcuzzi bath Mhh! Heaven

Open space, room to stretch, pool, honesty bar, small kitchenette allowed for self catering in the studio, warm hospitality and lovely dinners. Safe environment - we could walk to the shops. Several personal tour options were awesome: Pretoria and the Voortrekkers monument; Pilanesberg Safari; Cradle of mankind The Lion Park and / or Rhino and Lion Park Leseda Cultural Village

I loved the style of the house, the gardens and pool and especially the outdoor seating area with honesty bar. It was ideal for relaxing after a busy day out. The bathrooms were particularly well appointed and big. The home made breakfast muffins were excellent and deserve a mention. We chose the villa for it's proximity to Lanseria airport and our relatives' home.

The rooms were good but could have been better. The shared bathroom facilities fro 2 of the rooms would have been unacceptable if we had not been sharing with our own group.

The location was good. Shopping mal only minutes away by car with good places to eat (Throbbing Strawberry and The Hogshead). We stayed in the self contained cottage which needed a little updating in parts, this was a shame because with a bit of TLC it could have been 4 star. Cannot comment about the main house. Even so would probably stay again

The breakfast was disapointing and not up to the usual South African standards and all breakfasts arrived separately over a period of about 40 minutes. This is payed seperate to the accomodation so i would recommend eating out

Its location, away from all the buzz on the main roads, easy access to the main road and in close proximity to Monte Casino. and the hospitality. Free Wi-fi

It is close to Montecasino where we wanted to go for a show. The family room was spacious and clean.

Service during breakfast was disappointing.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Schreiner Guesf House. It was much more than we expected. The staff are All very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms comfortable. The location was great, only 500 metres from the shops. Very secure with electric Gates. Very private. We had the family suite which had loads of room. Didn't expect our own sunbathing balcony. Nice surprise. The owner Michele was extremely helpful and friendly. Kids loved the resident dog. Will definitely go again.

Simple, enjoyable, comfortable overnight near major events - Montecasino and Coca-Cola Dome.

As a non-smoker and allergic, I am still sensitized even if people are smoking outside. The rooms, however, are free of traces of smoke.

We loved the one on one personal friendly communication. We were made to feel very welcome and special. Beautiful relaxing surroundings with a very homely feel. Our room was luxurous and was very comfortable a spacious.

The only thing that was a minor problem was that there was no pressure in the shower or bath.

Pleasant & Tranquil area. Nice Pool/Lapa. Friendly Host. Breakfast was fine and especially the coffee is special & very good.

Although the guest bathroom is very nice, it is not on suite for the Std Double Room option, and a problem for people who prefer to have their own private bathroom. Sharing a bathroom is not really prefable. Also no tv in room or a fan for hot days.
